Vanadium is needed for cellular metabolism and the formation of teeth and bones. It is also involved in cellular growth and reproduction, and helps control cholesterol levels in the blood. Deficiency has been linked to cardiovascular and kidney disease.

The best sources are buckwheat, unrefined vegetable oils, grains and olives. Vanadium is difficult to absorb.
