Prior
to the commercialization of our food supply, grass-fed beef, butter and
wild-caught fish supplied all the essential fatty acids we needed. Today, our
food supply is deficient and we are forced to supplement our diet. Choose a
marine-based formula such as krill oil (Neptune Krill Oil or NKO), cod liver, tuna
and fish or salmon oils. These must be certified free of mercury, PCBs and
other contaminates. Second best are the vegetable formulas: flax, borage, black
current seed and evening primrose oils. We just can’t get enough of these EFAs
in our diet.
