Drink 1/2 ounce of water for every pound of body weight. A 160 pound person needs 80 ounces of water, which is equal to 10 glasses of water daily.

A word about expensive water machines and alkalizers. I have no problem with these devices but they can be quite costly. The most important thing is to drink enough water every day. I think that many people who purchase water machines drink water like they never have before and of course feel great. Simply drinking more good quality clean water will have the same effect. The chemical reactions in our body require an electrical charge. Just as a dry battery in your car will not start the engine, dehydration will prevent your body from functioning properly. Dehydration may be the #1 deficiency in America! Drink more!!

Drink fresh vegetable juices. Many people should avoid fruit juice altogether. If drinking fruit juice, dilute fresh fruit juice it with 50% water. Avoid fruit drinks and juices with added sugar, preservatives, corn syrup or artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame, NutraSweet, Sweet N’ Low and Splenda.  Consider the purchase of a juicer. The best is the Vita-Mix. Avoid pasteurized dairy; choose raw dairy or organic products. Limit coffee or caffeinated drinks to two per day, if any. Choose organic coffee at all times. For the occasional alcoholic beverage, choose fermented drinks such as beer and red wine. Avoid distilled alcohol such as scotch, bourbon, vodka and gin.
