Vitamin K is needed for blood clotting and bone formation. Vitamin K given to postmenopausal women helps prevent bone loss. It is found in liver, egg yolks, butter, grains, dark leafy vegetables, cabbages and fermented soy products, such as miso, tempeh and natto. Vitamin K should be incorporated into all plans to help reverse the effects of osteoporosis.
